Committee
The
Polity
Committee is responsible for handling all communications to and from
the General Assembly dealing with changing the polity of the church. It
makes recommendations to the Presbytery concerning proposed amendments
to the form of government. All proposed overtures to the General
Assembly are referred to this committee to make recommendations on the
overture at the next Stated Meeting of Presbytery. Polity
Committee is responsible for assisting the Stated Clerk in
reviewing Session minutes and training Clerks of Session. The
committee is composed of 6 members elected at large to serve in
three three-year classes.
