Rayville Presbyterian Church

Rayville Presbyterian Church, organized in the fall of 1873, met for many years in the old Union Church on the corner of Madeline and Louisa Streets before the first wooden structure was completed and dedicated in May 1909.

In 1946, serious efforts were begun to raise funds to replace the deteriorating building, when at a special evening service in May a sudden Southern wind blew up and moved the rafters from a "Southern lag to a Northern lean". It took another 10 years for the present church to be constructed in 1956, a testimony to the resoluteness of the congregation.

In 2003, the Rayville Presbyterian Church united with four other churches in Franklin and Richland Parishes to form New Covenant Parish providing a cooperative Presbyterian witness to Jesus Christ.
