Description:
The Good Hope Church dates back to 1852 when settlers from Lowndes County, Alabama, made their home in DeSota Parish and formed a congregation of both black and white members teaching their children the catechism and Scriptures in the Presbyterian Reformed tradition.  They named the church Good Hope after the one they had left in Alabama. In the arduous years following the Civil War, the congregation held together led by Godly men.  Nathaniel White, was one of the greatest influences during this time carrying on the blessed work for God until 1871 when the congregation was reorganized.  In October 1877, the church petitioned the Presbytery to be formally constituted as a church.

Today, Good Hope embraces its rich heritage, a congregation united in spirit, devoted to service in the community, and in providing a Presbyterian witness to Jesus Christ.

Rev. Dr. David L. Jones also serves the congregations of Red Lick Presbyterian Church in Mansfield, and Hollywood Presbyterian Church in Shreveport.
